Overview – Liquid Screeds
Liquid screeds can be applied between 5 and 25mm. This can be used as a finished floor or as a sub base. It is self-levelling system and is useful for raising or levelelling existing floors. Liquid screed is a very strong system which is ready for foot traffic after 3 hours and vehicular traffic after 24 hours. This type of installation can only be carried out by highly skilled operatives, our team have the experience and skill set required to meet your needs. An epoxy coating can be applied as protection after this system has been laid.
Liquid screed is fast becoming the most popular screed for use on all types of building projects due to the reduced installation time in comparison to traditional sand and cement screeds up to 1000m2 can be laid in a day. It is also the screed of choice for underfloor heating due to the fact it flows all around the pipes leaving no air gaps making the whole system much more effective both in performance and cost.
Mixing Liquid Screeds
There are two common ways to mix liquid screeds. Firstly, by integrating materials with water ensuring correct ratios are applied. This is blended by use of drill and paddle. Secondly, by use of automated equipment handled by a qualified operator. Screed and water are mixed to create an accurate blend which is pumped directly onto the designated area.
